Chocolate covered oreo cookiesChocolate covered oreo cookies

This month I have collaborated on a Ebook (Free) by Maisons du monde along with other European bloggers. This Ebook includes different recipes and suggestions for Xmas holiday decoration, here you can see the result .

My proposal for this Ebook were these oreo dipped in chocolate, although it is really so simple that it can not even be called a recipe, I would rather say it is an edible craft. But what I like is that it’s a great idea for beginners in the kitchen, and that anyone would think “Even I can prepare that food”. And above all, these cookies are a great Christmas present!

You can prepare this edible craft two ways: using a mold

{Oreo dipped in chocolate}

Prep time: 15 min

Cooking time: 2 min

Yield: 8 – 12 oreo cookies

Ingredients

  • 12 oreo cookies
  • 300 g white chocolate (or white cany melts) (about 10.5 oz)
  • 50 g cocoa butter (optional) (about 1.76)
  • 1 chocolate transfer sheet (optional)
  • Directions

    1. Method 1: Cut circles in your transfer sheet. Fit them into the cavity of the Oreo cookie chocolate mold (make sure that the printed side you want to transfer is up!). Next, melt white chocolate and cocoa butter carefully in the microwave . Start with 30 seconds stir and go slowly. Add two tbs of melted chocolate to cover the bottom. Gently place a cookie in the center of each well. Gently spoon more melted chocolate over the oreo cookie, making sure it is completely covered. Place the mold in the fridge to cool down, and when the chocolate has hardened, pop out the chocolate covered Oreos and peel off the thin plastic disk, leaving just the pretty design behind.
    2. Method 2: Dip an Oreo in the melted chocolate and let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl then place the cookie on a sheet lined with waxed paper. Cut the transfer sheet to the desired size and place on top of the chocolate covered cookie. Put the cookies in the refrigerator for a few minutes. When the chocolate is set, remove the transfer sheet.
